Initiation Story

The Start of Kissan Dost Program

In the aftermath of the 2022 floods affecting 33 million people in Pakistan, rural areas faced extensive losses, disrupting lives and livelihoods. Recognising the urgent need for agricultural support in these vulnerable communities, Kisaan Dost Program embarked on an initiative to provide sustainable solutions. Through increased input access, regenerative farming practices, cost reduction, knowledge empowerment, and market connectivity, Kisaan Dost Program is driving a transformative grassroots movement to uplift Pakistan's agricultural sector and secure the long-term sustenance of affected communities.

Farida and Yusuf’s story: A snapshot of the lives being transformed by the GroRizq program

Farida and Yusuf were determined farmers in Taunsa, working hard to make their land thrive. But a devastating flood wiped away their dreams. Farida tried getting help from different organizations, but they all asked for something valuable, like land collateral or gold. So, she gave away their 3 tola of gold in the hope of getting support. Testimonials

Hear From the People

I was planning to sell all the livestock I had for PKR 55,000 just to be able to sow my crops. All of a sudden, Rizq registered me for this program, and gave me all the new seeds and inputs. As a result, not only was able to sell my animals for a profit during Eid at PKR 110,000, I achieved a better crop as well

Farmer from Taunsa

I was amazed to see my crop looking so vigorous, with healthy tillering. I have been struggling greatly with my wife battling cancer, and it has been difficult to make ends meet. With this Program, I felt a burden lifted off my shoulders, not constantly worrying about what to sell to afford seed. I am hopeful for a great yield.
