What is the Challenge?
Although demand for livestock products is growing due to a rising economy, higher incomes, and population, productivity per animal remains a challenge. Unproductive animals, low access to capital, and a lack of awareness regarding best livestock rearing practices impact milk and meat production, and result in a less-than-ideal herd composition, which impacts revenue.

Our Vision
To transform Pakistan’s livestock sector into a dignified, sustainable livelihood source for smallholder farmers while ensuring equitable meat access for all.
Mission
Rizq Breeds empowers impoverished livestock farmers, especially those affected by climate disasters, by providing high-quality animals, inputs, and market linkages. Through programs like Rizq Qurbani, we connect socially conscious consumers to ethical, Shariah-compliant meat sourcing and distribution systems that uplift farmers and sustain communities.
Initiation Story
The Start of Rizq Breeds
The idea for Rizq Breeds grew from Rizq’s long-standing work
with smallholder farmers through the Kisaan Dost Program and
sustainable agriculture initiatives.
While supporting
farmers after the 2022 floods, the Rizq team saw an opportunity:
livestock not only provides food but is a form of financial
security for rural families. By integrating livestock
development into Rizq’s social business model, we could:
