The Start of WEFNEX
Initiation Story

The Start of WEFNEX

Born out of Rizq’s commitment to end hunger through systemic change, WEFNEX (the Waste and Food Equity Network Exchange) emerged as a platform to connect all stakeholders of the food value chain — from farmers and distributors to social enterprises and communities. It began as a collaborative response to rising food waste and farmer distress, evolving into a national initiative that leverages technology, partnerships, and advocacy to create long-term impact.
