Ramadan 2026: How Rizq Successfully Led Pakistan’s Largest Dastarkhwan Network
Lasting from February to March, Rizq organized its largest ever Ramadan campaign, mobilising youth in 53 cities all across Pakistan, and echoing in more than 8 countries around the world. Channeling the idea of abundance and generosity under the slogan of “Rizq Bantnay Se Barhta Hai”, the Ramadan campaign successfully concluded after serving over 147,000 iftar meals, as well as distributing 3850 monthly ration packages in 11 cities.
The Youth Takes Action:
The main pillar behind this excellent mobilisation was the level of youth empowerment. Rizq’s main success factor has always been the young volunteers who support the mission. This Ramadan, this youth was allowed to turn their compassion into action through a high level of delegation and decentralization. With support from the team at the headquarters, city leads mobilised volunteers on their own, and managed the entire operational backend from fundraising drives to kitchen and distribution operations.
The dastarkhwan were set up in 53 cities including not just cities like Islamabad, Sialkot and Peshawar, but also smaller ones like Dadu, Zhob, Umerkot and Harpur. At each of these, guests were served with dignity and respect as per Rizq’s strict SOPs.
Cultivating a Community Experience:
Rizq iftar dastarkhwans are known for being extremely family friendly and providing a dignified iftar experience to all its guests. The focus has always been to make these spaces a source of building a community experience, and building a food distribution network where women, children and vulnerable communities can safely enjoy their meals. A majority of our volunteers are also composed of women.
As a part of building this community experience, we had a number of guests including key donors, influencers and partners visit the dastarkhwans in different locations, interact with the guests and serve them with dignity.
Closing on a High Note:
To close off the Ramadan project 2026, Rizq held the Ramadan closing event at Faletti’s hotel where volunteers were awarded with certificates and shields for their performance throughout the month. Dr. Amjad Saqib, founder and chairman of Akhuwat, was invited as the chief guest and keynote speaker, where the volunteers got the chance to learn from one of the leading social leaders of the country.
