What is the Challenge?
In Pakistan’s urban centres, rising food inflation and deepening poverty force millions to choose between hunger and dignity. Vulnerable families often lack access to affordable, nutritious meals, leaving them exposed to malnutrition and insecurity. Despite this situation, no scalable model exists for affordable, cooked meals that uphold consumer dignity.

Initiation Story
The Start of Rizq Khana
Rizq Khana was inspired by a simple act of generosity: Huzaifa
Ahmad’s mother ran a daily soup kitchen (dastarkhwan) from her
home, feeding hundreds from her personal kitchen. Her deeply
compassionate effort revealed two urgent truths:
First, the model’s impact fluctuated seasonally due to its
reliance on donations - limiting its consistency and scale.
Second, many urban poor chose not to accept free food out of
respect and dignity.
In addition, affordable food - when accessible - was often low
in nutrition and caused illness, increasing the long-term costs
for the very people it aimed to serve.
Rizq Khana was created to bridge this gap: a scalable,
financially sustainable food solution that offers high-quality,
nutritious meals to everyone - not as charity, but as a choice.
