The Kisaan Dost Program continues to grow in scope, expanding its reach to a greater number of farming communities within impoverished areas within South Punjab and Sindh. While the program began as a flood-rehabilitation effort, our goal is to develop a holistic approach to farmer uplift that builds long-term resilience. Going forward, we aim to build a catalogue of agricultural extension services and programs dedicated exclusively towards impoverished smallholder farmers, creating Rizq Agri Service Centers that are able to serve communities otherwise neglected by key agricultural stakeholders.
Additionally, the program will enable these communities to adopt regenerative farming through model farms, training, and community-building, providing farmers with access to machinery and knowledge. These efforts aim to raise incomes, reduce costs, and build climate resilience at a greater scale, transforming Pakistan’s agricultural landscape.
