Housing Project

Rizq Eco-Housing Project is one of the Rehabilitation Projects of Rizq Trust through which we aim to provide eco-friendly, low-cost houses to the flood-hit communities of Sindh.

The floods of 2022 in Pakistan displaced millions of people. In Sindh, 1.7 million homes were partially / fully damaged. To handle the enormous calamity, we needed a paradigm shift from charity to empowerment, from dependence to self-reliance. To empower these communities, Rizq Trust, in collaboration with The Heritage Foundation, is implementing a paradigm of Barefoot Social Architecture (BASA).

It involves low-tech, low-impact housing structures using green skills and sustainable, locally sourced materials. Moreover, it includes a thorough transfer of training and knowledge to enable communities to take care of themselves.
