Hunger has profound ramifications for food-insecure families, extending far beyond mere hunger pangs. It compels parents to withdraw their children from school, resorting to child labor to supplement income.

Mission
To ensure food security for every vulnerable household by providing subsidised ration packs with dignity and transparency, which allow individuals to become self-sufficient by channelising money to build livelihoods.
Initiation Story
The Start of Rizq Ration
Rizq Ration’s onset was driven by the urgent need to address the limited food availability faced by vulnerable families. Families needed more than just a one-time meal a day, they needed a slightly longer term solution, to help provide them ample time to set-up livelihood and become self-reliant. Hence the Ration program was designed not to provide charity, but to alleviate poverty while encouraging beneficiaries to prioritize their children's education through conditional aid interventions.

The journey began with Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and the Rizq team personally distributing rations to those affected by the pandemic. Their efforts were not only a beacon of hope but also a call to action for all of us to support their cause. They urged us to join them in their mission to combat hunger and keep the movement alive.

In 2018, Samsung and Rizq joined hands for a remarkable collaboration – the Million Meal Challenge. Ramadan, a time of reflection and giving, became the backdrop for their shared mission: to feed a million meals to those in need. This ambitious pledge was not just a numerical goal; it was a testament to the power of unity and compassion. Rizq Khana, a public kiosk serving as a drop-off point for food donations and an Iftar distribution center, became the heart of this initiative. It became a hub of generosity and kindness, located at three key locations in Lahore – Firdous Market, Allah Ho Chowk, and Khokhar Chowk. Volunteers worked tirelessly from 5:30 pm till Iftar time, collecting and distributing meals to those facing hunger.

Rizq teams collected detailed information and provided much needed support with ration packs which helped us survive while I found new work.

As the floods of 2025 hit Punjab, I desperately wanted to help the affected communities, but I did not understand how I could, but then I joined Rizq’s call for flood volunteers. For almost a month, me and my friends went to the Rizq Hub daily to pack thousands of ration packs which were then dispatched to flood communities. It felt special to be a part of something truly meaningful.

Our ration process is thoughtfully designed to ensure the most deserving families receive the much needed assistance. We carry out detailed need assessments, dedicate local point-of-contacts in the verified communities through which we provide tokens. Only individuals with tokens are provided the ration packages, to ensure we have the records of all beneficiaries, and we can measure the impact of our interventions.
